I am relisting this site, as I attempted to sell it on Sitepoint, and the guy never paid! I don't have 20.00 USD to waist everytime some sloppy buyer thinks he can bid and waste both my money and time, so I am going to give it a shot here.
We began the idea behind creating a Swoopo / Telebid clone about 6 months ago. The idea was to create something similar in every single aspect but have extras hiding behind the shadows. Overall, the production of Shobid.com came to existence and overall the work is completely finished with an extremely clean code and a flawless design.
The website has been coded in Cake PHP, thus keeping it run smoother under one server, rather than having multiple servers to undertake the task. The overall design is simple and clean, yet appealing (The website comes with 5 other templates to chose from). This is a onetime sale, never to resold or repurchased or even recoded by us or any of our coders.
The Website:
Well, if you are not familiar with Swoopo or Telebid, then you have been away from the nicest, nichiest market out there for some time now. Shobid basically replicates the same operations as these dynamic websites and brings forth a clean code that could potentially cost thousands and thousands of dollars to re-create.
Shobid is a live auction system where a bidder must purchase his/her bids prior to placing a bid on any of the live bargains. All items start at .01 cents and go up 7 cents every time a bidder bids.
Each bid on the other hand can cost anywhere from 34 cents a bid, up to a dollar (that depends on what the owner of the site decides). In other words, if you calculate how this system works, you can see how one auction that ends at 200.00 USD can basically generate you a huge number of profits. Here is an
example below:
* Portable PlayStation or a PSP: Cost is 250.00 USD
* Auction Closes at a bargain of: 105.00 USD
* To Calculate the number of bids: Take 105.00 USD, Divide by .07 Cents (remember each time a bidder bids, it only goes up 7 cents)
* Your overall number of bids is: 1500 Bids
* To calculate your profit you: Multiply 1500 Bids by the cost of each bid. Lets say it is .40 cents a bid.
* Total Revenue would be: 600.00 USD + 105.00 USD = 705.00 USD
* Your Total Profit from one auction is: 455.00 USD!
If you get the idea behind it, all you need to do a day is auction one item off, and you can generate thousands a month. It is very possible, and the cost of advertising is not high if you have the funds.
User Interfaces:
The website is fully ready to accept buyers. I recommend that anyone who is interested to register and bid, as you get 10 free bids. The User Interface is very organized and is overall professionally designed. Website code is very easy to re-implement, so if you are a developer I am pretty sure an entire new design can be put together based on your preferences.
Admin interface is very sophisticated as well. The admin is able to control every aspect of the auctions, users, bids, bid packs etc. We have also implemented a reserve price where the auction would either add time onto auction if the reserve is not met, or let auto bidders bid on the item itself (can be discussed further on).
Revenue:
The website was never launched. Yes, we have had it in beta and allowed users to register only twice. It is currently open to register as I know many want to test it. So feel free to do so.
Revenue was generated once when we had finished implementing PayPal into the site itself. We generated approximately 40.00 USD in the first 24 hours without any advertising or promoting of the site. This obviously shows the level of interest this website has brought as it is a very hot market.
Traffic:
The website has been fully optimized, on-site and off-site. We have purchased an elite SEO package for the site which will provide it with an upcoming large number of in-links or back-links. We are hoping to get approximately around 20-30k worth of back links but it will take anywhere between 6-12 months as we chose slow submissions, stumbles and social networking packages that will keep the website white hat and loved by all search engines.
The website has been briefly promoted through YouTube with a video that was the most discussed worldwide for approximately a month. The site is also advertised with other videos that have approximately around 30-50k in views. Links of the videos below, and that videos alone brings up around 500-2000 visits a day.

- Now 90% of the traffic we are getting is from direct traffic. People are punching in our domain name as they are seeing it through these videos. We have never, and I repeat never promoted the site through any other venues or through paid advertising on google adwords. However, we know that targeted traffic for this website will make it successful in an extremely short period of time.
Forecasted Traffic on the other hand ought to be around 4000-5000 Visitors a day as our SEO package just kicked out. I project these hits within the next 4-10 months. The more back links the higher in search results you will be and the more traffic you will get.
Product:
The pricier the product the more money you make. Why? The higher the ending price the more you make! Look at the calculation up above! Now you want high end products like iPods, TV's and name brand products.
